Setting Up Your First Project

Before diving in with Yahini, you'll need a few basic things in place.

First, you need a working website URL with enough content for Yahini to understand what you do. The same goes for your competitors - their websites should be live and have sufficient content.

You should also be familiar with some common content marketing terms.

Don't worry, you don't need to be an expert, but understanding basics like funnel stages, content briefs, and keyword difficulty levels will help you get the most out of the platform.

And of course, you should be ready to get started with content strategy right away.

How do I create my first project?

When you first sign up to Yahini, you'll automatically start on the free plan. This lets you test out the platform's core features before committing to a paid subscription.

Your first step will be creating your project by entering some essential information: your website URL, at least 3 competitor URLs, details about your target audience, and a brief description of what your business does.

Once your project is set up, you'll land on the keywords page.

Here's what you can do with the free plan: you can import up to 5 of your own keywords using the purple "Import Keywords" button and generate content briefs for these terms to test out the platform.

While you'll notice a "Generate Keywords" button on your dashboard, keep in mind that the automated keyword research feature is only available with a paid plan. If you click this button, you'll see a popup inviting you to upgrade your subscription.

Yahini Generate Keywords!

The free plan is designed to give you a hands-on experience with Yahini's brief generation capabilities using your own keywords, helping you decide if the full feature set would be valuable for your content strategy.

Once you switch to a paid plan, Yahini will generate for you a list of keywords specifically chosen for your business. From here, you have two approaches to choose from:

  1. The "Trust the Process" Approach: Perfect if time is your most valuable asset. Simply follow Yahini's prioritized list of keywords (typically starting with high-impact BOFU keywords) and add them to your workbook in order. It's like having an experienced strategist hand-pick your priorities for you.

  2. The "Custom Control" Approach: Ideal if you have specific content goals or want to focus on particular funnel stages. Use filters to sort keywords by funnel stage, keyword difficulty, or priority, and adjust your TOFU/MOFU/BOFU content ratio to match your strategy. You can also edit funnel stages and priority scores for individual keywords.

How do I upgrade my plan?

You can buy credits or upgrade any time through the "Credits & Billing" section, where you can also monitor your usage limits.

Yahini Buy Credits!

There are two ways to upgrade your plan:

  1. Simply choose a subscription model or LTD - Click the "See Pricing" button to visit the pricing page. Here you can select your preferred plan and proceed to checkout through Stripe. During checkout, you'll have the opportunity to apply any discount codes you may have.

  2. Redeem Special Partner Codes - If you have a special code from one of our partners or directly from us, use the "Redeem a partner code" option. Important: This is specifically for partner/special offer codes, NOT for discount codes. Discount codes should only be used during the Stripe checkout process.

Not sure if you have a special code or discount code? Contact us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to help clarify.

Note: All discount codes should be applied during checkout on the Stripe payment page, while special partner codes are redeemed directly on our platform.

How do I switch projects?

Tons of you might ask:

  1. What if a client leaves or I don't need a project anymore?
  2. How do I switch projects?
  3. How do I remove a project and add a new one?

The answer is simple.

Your subscription (or LTD licence) works like having a limited number of parking spots. While you can create new projects each month, you can only work on a certain number at the same time (based on your plan).

When you want to start a new project but all your spots are full, simply deactivate an existing project to free up space. Your available spots reset each month, giving you the flexibility to activate/reactivate domains or add new domains as needed.

For example: If your plan allows 4 active projects, and you're currently managing projects A, B, C, and D, you'll need to deactivate one of these to create a new project E. This system resets each month, allowing you to rotate projects as needed while maintaining your active project limit.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. When deactivating a project by clicking the "open lock" icon, a confirmation popup will appear. You'll need to type in the project URL to confirm. The popup will show when you can reactivate the project and how many active projects you're allowed to have.

  1. When reactivating a project by clicking the "closed lock" icon, a confirmation popup will appear. If you've reached your maximum number of active projects, you'll need to either deactivate another project or purchase more project credits before you can proceed with the reactivation.

Why does Yahini need competitor URLs?

Yahini needs to understand your competitive landscape to help you develop an effective content strategy. When you provide competitor URLs, Yahini will:

  1. Analyze gaps and opportunities in your market;

  2. Identify unique angles for your content;

  3. Understand industry-specific terminology and trends;

  4. Compare content approaches across your market;

  5. Help you differentiate your content strategy.

This competitive context helps Yahini create more targeted, effective recommendations for your content strategy.

Why does Yahini need information on my audience and topics?

When you share information about your audience and priority topics, Yahini will create more targeted content briefs that speak directly to your audience's needs and pain points.

This information helps shape everything from what to focus on to the specific examples and use cases included in your briefs.

Your priority topics help Yahini understand what matters most to your business right now, ensuring the keyword recommendations and content briefs align with your current goals and focus areas.

How long does initial setup take?

The entire setup process takes about 15 minutes.

You'll spend about 5 minutes entering your information, and then Yahini needs about 10 minutes to:

  • Process your website and competitor data;

  • Analyze your market position;

  • Generate your customized keyword list;

  • Prepare your initial strategy recommendations.

During this processing time, you can step away and grab a coffee - Yahini will notify you when everything's ready.
